This year, the Spring arts festival will be 25 years old. And yet its program as enthralling as ever. Concert in private apartments, evenings on special thermes, a surprise day, composers rediscovered..., this festival unlike any other brings new vitality to music and touches the widest possible audience.
A bold and exciting edition signed Marc Monnet, from March 31st to April 18th. The same energy characterizes the prestigious Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra which, at the initiative of its new director Yakov Kreisberg, is getting ready to blow out the candles for its 50th springtime while marking the 250th anniversary of the death of Joseph Haydn.
By approaching the famous composer from the angle of his heirs, Beethoven and Mozart, the Orchestra invites us to 5 concert-events in the superbly restored setting of the legendary Salle Garnier at the Casino de Monte-Carlo.
On May 31st, June 4th and 7th, another legend to assert its topicality in the principality, Serge Diaghilev's Russian Ballets will top the bill for a 100th anniversary which promises to be simply dazzling. A circuit around town, an exhibition at the Villa Sauber, symphony concerts, shows, a very rich program.
