Held under the Presidency of HSH Prince Albert II, Monaco Classic Week plays host to the world’s finest sail ships in Port Hercule.
Traditional yachts, period yachts and old motor-boats take to the water together, as in the “Belle Epoque”, while maintaining an authentic yachtsman’s spirit : such is the aim of the Monaco Classic Week.
The 2009 edition promises to be quite exceptional as it will celebrate the centenary of Tuiga, the Monaco Yacht Club’s splendid flagship.
On this occasion, the Yacht Club de Monaco, in collaboration with its official timekeeper Hublot, and with the backing of Moët Hennessy, Crédit Suisse and Lancia, intends to “suspend” the passage of time, in order to take the Quai Antoine 1er back to 1909 by recreating the atmosphere that prevailed here 100 years ago.
An invitation to travel back in time and discover in parallel the Principality’s sea-faring history from 1909 to 2009.
