Created in 1974 by Prince Rainier III, Monaco's Circus Festival soon became one of the most eagerly awaited events on the Principality's calendar, but also among circus acts the world over. Performers in fact come from many different horizons to participate in this high-level competition, beneath the gaze of spell-bound audiences. And this, thanks to the extremely rigorous selection of the acts on the bill, under the aegis of artistic director Mr. Urs Pilz and H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, who presides this colorful event.
Excitement, humor, enchantment and adrenalin are all on the program!
The 36th edition of this prestigious event of international scope will be held under the Big Top in Fontvieille, Monaco. On the program : 4 elephants performing as a family, 20 ponies at liberty in the ring, an act with Spanish clowns, motorbike feats in giant globes and many more spills and thrills!

A show presenting talented young circus performers, not to be missed!
On February 4th and 5th, 2012, festivities continue with "New Generation", a new competition for carefully selected young circus performers, presided by H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie together with her eldest daughter, Pauline, who will be president of the jury. Clowns, acrobats, tightrope-walkers, magicians and circus animals will go through their paces in the ring, competing for the "Junior d’Or", "Junior d’Argent" and "Junior de Bronze". A great way of guaranteeing the future of the circus thanks to these young hopefuls, some of whom have already seen their parents winning awards here in Monaco. The magic lives on…
